"Arsenic and Old Lace-style romp in a convent."

Wantage & Wallingford, July 2007

What a wonderful evening. The cast and audience clearly enjoyed themselves hugely. This is a great show with excellent music and brilliant comic moments and gags. If you want a night of non-stop comedy with some moments of brilliant singing and dancing then this is the show for you. It's on at Wallingford Corn Exchange tonight and tomorrow.

An enjoyable romp in an American convent. What I liked was that neither the script nor the cast were ever irreverent, and did not cause offence.

Lots of comedy moments, especially from Sister Amnesia and Gill Morgan with her wicked cameo spots. And there were some excellent voices and songs to round off the performances.

When I saw it on the first night at Wantage, it was a little slow in places and there was some fluffing of lines, but these problems should have been sorted by the time the play gets to Wallingford.

Do go and see it - a fun evening!

Not a lot of people know this, but Nunsense is an hilarious show about a bunch of nuns in an American convent who need to raise money to bury their sisters who have been poisoned by the cook. So they put on a show featuring all sorts of comic songs, jokes and action. It played in Wantage last weekend and if you missed it then it's well worth a look in when it comes to Wallingford Corn Exchange on 20th & 21st July.
